Arrest made in fake taxi kidnapping/rape

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An arrest has been made in the rape of a 20-year-old woman.
Rudolph Joseph, 38, of New Orleans is accused of picking up the victim on Frenchman Street in New Orleans while driving a white van marked as a taxi.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said he then drove the woman to Baton Rouge against her will.
According to reports, the woman was forced to perform oral sex on him before he released her in the 1700 block of America Street.
Joseph was identified through a DNA match and was arrested Monday in a Baton Rouge courtroom where he had made an appearance in an unrelated case. He has been charged with forcible rape.
The investigation is continuing.
