Old State Capitol launches Wild Frontier experience
Historic Baton Rouge landmark opens new exhibit Wednesday with free admission
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) — Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is taking visitors back to the Wild Frontier with a newly reimagined experience called “America’s Wild Frontier.” The historic Baton Rouge landmark is marking the launch with a grand opening event Wednesday, June 24.
Visitors are encouraged to continue their “Louisiana Purchase journey” at the opening of “Excursions, Expeditions, and ‘Discoveries:’ A Young Nation Expands” from 4:30-6:30 p.m., organizers said.
The Old State Capitol said the new experience is part of a larger look at a changing nation. In addition to “Reimagining America: The Maps of Lewis & Clark,” the museum calls the Capitol “the place to be” to reimagine America’s expansion-era history.
Tickets are free for all ages. Attendees can claim them on the Capitol’s website.
