Shooting suspect arrested after allegedly barricading himself in Baton Rouge home

PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) - A man wanted for attempted murder in Iberville Parish was taken into custody after allegedly barricading himself in a Baton Rouge home for multiple hours.
According to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Eric Goss, 40, was accused of being involved with a shooting at a home on Nicholas Street in north Plaquemine.

Deputies said a victim was found shot multiple times and taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives identified Goss as the suspect, and he was later found in Baton Rouge, where he barricaded himself inside a home.
Deputies said he surrendered after a two-and-a-half-hour standoff.
Goss was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail as a fugitive. He was later transported to Iberville Parish Jail, where he was booked on Thursday, Feb. 12, on one count of second-degree murder.
Additional charges for Goss were announced on Friday, Feb. 13. Those charges include:
- One count of Attempted Second Degree Murder
- Two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
- One count of Domestic Abuse
- Two counts of Simple Battery
- One count of Theft of a Firearm
