CLINTON, La. (WAFB) - A Clinton man is facing charges in connection with a molestation investigation.

According to the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office, Rinaldo “Rah Rah” B. Robinson, 43, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 5, on two counts of first-degree rape.

The Clinton Police Department initially received the complaint, but officials said the investigation was turned over to the sheriff’s office due to the complainant’s concerns of a conflict of interest.

Through their investigation, deputies said they identified two children as victims.

WAFB learned that Robinson previously served as the East Feliciana High School mascot, dressing up as either a tiger or an eagle.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation’s results caused them to believe there was enough probable cause to arrest the suspect for the molestation, and District Attorney Sam D’Aquilla, whom they had brought in for consultation, agreed.

Robinson was booked into the East Feliciana Parish Prison.

The Clinton Police Department asked the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate, which it agreed to do.
