Rouses opens new Central grocery store after Winn-Dixie takeover

Rouses Markets officially opened its newest store Monday in Central, marking another step in the company’s rapid expansion.

CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - Rouses Markets officially opened its newest store Monday in Central, marking another step in the company’s rapid expansion following its acquisition of multiple Winn-Dixie locations across Louisiana and Mississippi.

The new store, located at 10974 Joor Road, opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Rouses President and CEO Donny Rouse and attended by local and state leaders, including mayors David McDavid and Wade Evans.

Rouses announced in November that it had acquired 10 Winn-Dixie stores across Louisiana and Mississippi, allowing the family-owned grocer to quickly expand its footprint in key Gulf Coast markets.

With these ten new locations, Rouses Markets will operate 76 stores across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
