BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Several school districts have decided to close school due to winter weather conditions.

School officials announced the following closures and school changes:

Ascension Parish

  • Ascension Parish Schools will be closed through Friday, Jan. 24. No new assignments will be distributed during this time. Students are encouraged to focus on completing previously assigned work.

Assumption Parish

  • Assumption Parish schools will remain closed until Monday, Jan. 27.

East Baton Rouge Parish

  • LSU announced the campus will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 23. Campus will reopen on Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Southern University campuses on the Baton Rouge landmass will be closed on Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24. Classes and offices will shift to remote operations. Normal operations will resume on Monday.
  • All BRCC educational sites will remain closed on Friday, January 24, and the college will transition to remote instruction and remote work.
  • All EBR Schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Jan. 24.
  • City of Baker School system will be closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • All Zachary Schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Jan. 24.
  • The Central Community School System will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24. Friday will be a virtual day.
  • Catholic High School’s campus will be closed on Tuesday, January 21. CHS will hold an Electronic School Day on Tuesday, Jan. 21
  • Parkview Baptist School will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Martin Luther King Christian Academy will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24, due to severe weather.
  • Jehovah-Jireh Christian Academy in Baton Rouge will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24. Students are to complete their remote learning assignments.
  • Helix Community Schools network will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24, and operate virtually. Schools will reopen on Monday, Jan. 27.
  • Madison Preparatory Academy will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
  • Educare Academy 1 & 2 will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21
  • IDEA Public Schools are closed on Friday, Jan. 24, due to winter weather.
  • Dunham School campus will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24. Students should complete e-assignments.
  • Louisiana School for the Deaf and the Louisiana School for the Blind will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24. Students will participate in virtual learning. Employees will report to work Friday.
  • University Laboratory School and the Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Central Private School will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Southern University Laboratory School will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • St. Joseph’s Academy will be closed on Wednesday, January 22 and will remain closed Thursday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Jan. 24. These will be virtual school days for students.
  • Inspire Charter Academy will be closed Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24.
  • Hosanna Christian Academy announced it will be closed on Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23.
  • Zachary Christian Academy will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Kenilworth Science and Technology Academy will be closed Wednesday, January 22, and will remain closed Thursday, January 23.
  • Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University will be remote through Friday, January 24.
  • South Baton Rouge Charter will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • The Brighton School will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
  • The Fortis College Baton Rouge campus will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
  • Trinity Episcopal Day School will be closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Dalton Elementary will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24.
  • Lanier Elementary will be closed Thursday, Jan. 23.
  • McKanstry Preparatory School in Central will be closed on Thursday, January 23 due to the continued impacts from the winter weather.
  • GEO Prep Academy, GEO Mid-City, GEO Prep Baker, GEO Next Generation High School will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 24. Teachers will report to work Friday.

West Baton Rouge Parish

  • All WBR Schools will be closed through Friday, Jan. 24. Students should continue their distance learning work on Thursday. Classes will resume on Monday.
  • Holy Family School will continue having remote learning through Friday, January 24.

East Feliciana Parish

  • All East Feliciana Public Schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22, Thursday, Jan. 23, and Friday, Jan. 24. Schools will reopen on Monday, Jan. 27.

West Feliciana Parish

  • All West Feliciana Parish Schools will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Jan. 24.

Iberville Parish

  • All Iberville Parish Schools will reopen on Monday, January 27.

Pointe Coupee Parish

  • All Pointe Coupee Parish Schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 23, and Friday, Jan. 24, due to freezing weather conditions.

St. Helena Parish

  • All St. Helena Parish School District schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Tangipahoa Parish

  • All Tangipahoa Parish School System schools will be remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 23. Schools will reopen on Friday pending no major facilities issues.
  • All Northshore Technical Community College campuses will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Livingston Parish

  • Livingston Parish Public Schools will remain closed to students through Friday, Jan. 24. Employees will need to report to work on Friday at 9 a.m.
