2 people arrested in connection with deadly shooting in Plaquemine, police say
PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) - A second person was arrested Saturday, June 8, in connection with a deadly shooting in Plaquemine, according to police.
The shooting happened around 8 a.m. on Friday, June 7, near the Plaquemine Locks on Nadler Street.
Police say Deandre Devon Dorsey and Sammie Dorsey are now in the custody of police in connection with the incident. According to officials, the pair are son and mother. Deandre Devon Dorsey is charged with second-degree murder, obstruction of justice, and failure to report certain felonies. Sammie Dorsey is charged with obstruction of justice and failure to report certain felonies.

Police identified the victim of the shooting as Bazile Mitchell, Jr. Officials say Mitchell was Deandre Devon Dorsey’s uncle.
More arrests could come later, according to police.
