BREC’s Liberty Lagoon opens this weekend for 2024 season

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Grab your swimsuit and a towel! BREC’s Liberty Lagoon waterpark is opening for another summer of water fun.

The Baton Rouge Recreation and Park Commission (BREC) announced the Liberty Lagoon waterpark is kicking off this summer’s weekend operations on Saturday, April 27. The family-friendly water park features waterslides, a lazy river, splash pads, and a Shockwave surfing simulator.

Liberty Lagoon waterpark is located at 111 Lobdell Ave. in Baton Rouge.

Starting April 27, the water park will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Hours will be extended to weekdays from Monday, May 25 through Friday, Aug. 2. The park will be closed on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12.

According to BREC, tickets to the opening weekend are only available on-site, but tickets can be bought online for park days starting with May 4.
