Missing Baton Rouge teen found safe, suspect arrested

LAPLACE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said a missing Baton Rouge teen has been found safe and the man she was with was arrested.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Kathryn Labauve, 16, was found Thursday. Deputies added she was in good health.

Casey Rayborn Hicks, spokeswoman for EBRSO, said the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office took John Lamberson III, 41, into custody.

She added people at a gas station in LaPlace recognized Labauve and called authorities.

According to Hicks, Lamberson faces criminal charges in St. John Parish. He will be transferred to EBR Parish and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and principal to unauthorized use of a movable.

The investigation is ongoing.
