BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Representatives from the East Baton Rouge District Attorney, Sheriff's Office, Coroner, State Police, FBI, and City Police held a news conference Tuesday afternoon to announce the arrests of suspected heroin dealers Christopher Varnado and Dearcy Robertson. Four others have also been arrested as part of a two-month investigation into the case.
Information was developed that Varnado and Dearcy Robertson and others were working together to distribute heroin and roxycontin. They made use of store fronts: particularly Urban Imaging/Dope Man Entertainment located on Greenwell Springs as well as other locations to distribute illegal drugs.
Investigators also received information that led Varnado to be suspected of several acts of violence associated with drug transactions. "Make no mistake about this," says Hillar Moore EBR District Attorney. "These two that were arrested are mid-level to high-level in Baton Rouge dealers of heroin.
Varnado is being held on a $325,000 bond with a hold order. Robertson $275,000 also with a hold.
