BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A Denham Springs businessman will remain free for the time being.
Kevin Calmes was supposed to report to jail Monday, but a judge continued a motion that will allow him to stay out until his appeal is heard.
Calmes was convicted last August of three counts of structuring transactions to evade, one count of failing to file proper paperwork with the IRS and one count of money laundering.
The judge set January 22nd as Calmes' new report date for prison.
