CLINTON, LA (WAFB) - An Office of Motor Vehicles manager was arrested Monday for allegedly selling chauffeur's licenses.

The Louisiana State Police said Thomas J. Davis, 44, of Baton Rouge, would charge $400, fake the paperwork and hand out the license.

Davis worked at the Louisiana OMV in Clinton. Illegal activities at that particular office were investigated for a month.

State law requires individuals take and pass a written test, as well as a vision test before being given a Class D license.

Davis was booked into the East Feliciana Parish Prison on malfeasance in office, filing false public records and public bribery charges.

If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

Investigators did not indicate how many of the illegal licenses Davis is suspected of selling.
