Police identify child killed in Swan Avenue shooting
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - BRPD homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting that landed three children in the hospital after being struck by gunfire. One of the kids, identified as Diellon Daniels, 8, died from his injuries.
That drive-by shooting happened around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 on Swan Avenue.
Police report there were five kids in the car at the time with their pregnant mother behind the wheel. Family members said the mother gave birth Thursday morning, November 28. A GoFundMe page has been started to support the mother.
Three of the five siblings suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The gunfire caused the mother to crash into a tree in front of a barbershop.
Police have not made any arrests.
