Dr. Steve talks with Jeremy DeHart, a Weather Officer with the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters. DeHart talks about his role on the missions and recounts some of his most memorable flights, including a 2,000-foot drop in the eyewall of Category 5 Hurricane Michael.
Dr. Steve is joined by Lauren Nash, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service New Orleans/Baton Rouge office. She provides an update on the planned move of the NWS radar from Slidell to Hammond, which has been delayed a bit. The radar move will be a big help to the Baton Rouge area once completed.
