The trial of a minister accused of raping an 11-year-old girl ended in a mistrial and a second trial was set for May.

A DeSoto Parish jury was unable to reach a verdict Friday in the trial of Burcham Paul Warren, a former pastor of South Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Stanley.

District Judge Robert Burgess declared a mistrial after the jury said it was deadlocked at 6-6. Burgess set Warren's second trial for May 12.

Warren remains free on bond. He faced a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
