Forty-two Cadets have become members of the most respected law enforcement agency in the state - the Louisiana State Police.

Services were held earlier today at the BREC Independence Park Theater in Baton Rouge for Cadet Class 87.

The graduation culminates six months of vigorous training in criminal law, firearms and officer survival. But, the graduates say discipline is a virtue they'll carry with them when they report to duty.

"It's quite an accomplishment," said Troop A graduate Adam Albright. "We have been here six months, worked long and hard, and it was a hard road but we're glad we're finally through."

The troopers will hit the roads in their assigned areas of the state on Monday.
