IBERVILLE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A new exotic animal has taken the place of a tiger that was kept at a truck stop in Iberville Parish.
The five-month-old camel is named Casper and is housed at the Tiger Truck Stop facility, according to our news partner KATC. Tony the tiger had been put down in October 2017 because of kidney failure and other health issues.
A coati, a member of the raccoon native to South and Central America, came with the camel.
Owner Michal Sandlin said he's considering expanding the facilities to bring in more animals and create a petting zoo for children.
