Baton Rouge Fire Department investigates apartment fire

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Fire Department said it's investigating the cause of a fire that damaged an apartment building early Saturday morning.

The department said firefighters arrived on scene at 11585 N. Harrell's Ferry to find smoke coming out of one of the six-unit building. The fire was contained to one unit, the department said.

Two units were damaged due to the fire. Red Cross was called to assist.

The apartments did have working smoke detectors.
