EAST FELICIANA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A man from Jackson is dead after a single vehicle wreck in East Feliciana Parish Friday morning.

Just before 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 7, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating the crash on LA 952 north of LA 10 in East Feliciana Parish that claimed the life of Timothy Hollins, 49, of Jackson.

The initial investigation by LSP revealed the wreck happened as Hollins was driving southbound on LA 952 in a 2003 Chevy pickup truck when, for reasons still under investigation, Hollins ran off the left side of the road and hit multiple trees. Hollins' truck continued off the road and came to a stop after hitting a parked vehicle.

Hollins was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the wreck and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the East Feliciana Parish Coroner's Office. Impairment is not suspected as a factor in this incident, but a toxicology sample will be taken for analysis nonetheless.

After further investigation, it was determined Hollins died from a medical condition prior to the crash. LSP will no longer be investigating the incident as a fatal crash.
