Police search for driver and truck involved in deadly hit and run motorcycle crash

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are trying to find the driver who fled the scene of a deadly hit and run motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified the victim as Sam Williams, 31, of Baton Rouge.

Investigators reported the wreck happened on Florida Boulevard near Sharp Road around 4:15 p.m.

They said Williams was on a motorcycle and was hit by a white, lifted Chevrolet 1500 truck. They added the impact threw Williams off the motorcycle.

According to authorities, Williams was taken to the hospital where he later died.
