Louisiana Spirit counselors will be in flood areas to assess mental health needs

WALKER, LA (WAFB) - Counselors with the Louisiana Department of Health will be in parts of Livingston Parish over the next few days to determine what mental health resources are needed in the area for post-flooding recovery.

Officials say the representatives are Louisiana Spirit counselors and they will be in Walker, Denham Springs and communities between the two.

Representatives will be walking through neighborhoods during daylight hours and will have Louisiana DHH photo identification cards clipped on their shirts or hanging on lanyards.Residents should feel free to ask to see identification of any of these reps and contact authorities if they have any concerns.
