NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana state Sen. Troy Brown pleaded no contest to a charge of simple battery Wednesday.
Chris Bowman, the chief spokesman for the Orleans District Attorney's Office, confirmed Judge Camille Buras allowed Brown to plead no contest to the charge.
Brown was sentenced to a 6-month suspended sentence and ordered to pay a $500 fine.
The victim in the case requested the stay away order be dropped, which the judge allowed.
