BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Below is a comprehensive list of links for resources and information related to the flood recovery effort.


Food Assistance: A second month of DSNAP benefits has been approved.

Shelter at Home program: A state-funded program that provides flood victims repairs that will allow them to stay in their home while repairs are being made. The deadline has been extended until October 21.

Assistance/Relief for flood victims: Includes information about federal funds available, meal and supply handout locations, housing options, etc.

Assistance for work-related loss: Businesses, including farmers, and employees can get compensation for money lost due to flooding.

OMV makes adjustments to handle flooded vehicles: For those who had flooded vehicles, the Office of Motor Vehicles has made it easier for you to turn in your license plate.

HUD-approved trailers among long-term housing plans: There will be three options for long-term housing.

Website to locate/report lost pets: A website created specifically for flooding in Louisiana. 

How to replace lost/flood damaged documents: A comprehensive list of phone numbers and websites related to replacing lost or damaged documents.

FEMA urges flood victims to read denial letters carefully: Some people are being denied over small errors that can be corrected.


Ways to volunteer time and goods: Includes lists of various organizations that are providing assistance, fundraising events, and other donation opportunities.

Ways to donate money and fundraising events: Includes lists of various organizations that are raising funds for flood victims and various fundraising events that have been scheduled.

Ways to donate money and goods to animal shelters and rescue groups: Hundreds of animals are being held at various shelters. Additionally, many animal rescue groups were impacted by flooding and are holding fundraising efforts.


Debris removal: Information related to when/where debris removal will begin.

Officials ask EBR Parish residents to report debris collection needs: Regarding final round of debris collection
