LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - On Monday, August 1, the Lafayette Police responded to a call from a resident who came home to find the body of a woman, now identified as Sheree Patin Williams, 37, in her home. Jonathan Aubrey, 33, has been charged with first degree murder in the case.
Williams, who was Aubrey's ex-girlfriend, had obtained a protective order against Aubrey prior to the incident. Detectives were able to place Aubrey at the residence on Conrad St., where the body was found, prior to the body being discovered by the homeowner.
The homeowner says she immediately contacted police upon discovery of the body.
Aubrey was arrested Monday around 11 p.m. for violating the protective order. Autopsy results conclude that Williams' cause of death was strangulation. The investigation is ongoing.
