BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials have released an update on the TramLinkBR project.
According to Mayor Kip Holden, the city-parish has identified a preferred alternative for the proposed the streetcar.
Holden said thanks to input from the public, stakeholders and the Department of Transportation, the project is moving forward with option two. That project includes two-way tracks along Fourth and St. Ferdinand streets in the downtown area.
Holden added there is an environmental assessment currently underway.
And once it's complete, the public will have another chance to weigh in on the project, which would likely happen over the summer.
