BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Fire investigators said someone smoking in bed caused a fire that resulted in heavy damage to a home Saturday morning.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported it happened on Seneca Street near North Acadian Thruway around 5 a.m.
Mark Miles with BRFD said it took firemen more than two hours to get the fire under control.
He added the home had heavy fire and smoke damage.
According to officials, the Red Cross responded to help the five people who were inside at the time.
