BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana officials are keeping a close eye on the rising Mississippi River.

The Army Corps of Engineers will start inspecting levees from Baton Rouge to Venice daily.

The river is expected to crest at about 35 feet in Baton Rouge sometime this week.

The corps said all construction projects within 1,500 feet of the levees will be put on hold.
