LSU's Mainieri named Skip Bertman Coach of the Year

LUBBOCK, TX (WAFB) - LSU head coach Paul Mainieri has been named the 2015 Skip Bertman National Coach of the Year by the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.

Mainieri led the Tigers to a 54-12 record and a Southeastern Conference title. He also led LSU back to 2015 College World Series, the Tigers second appearance in the past three years.

The award, sponsored by Easton Sports, is named for Bertman, who coached at LSU from 1984 to 2001. During his tenure, he won five national championships and was named National Coach of the Year six times.
