Baton Rouge chef holds 'Food Network Star' viewing party

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge chef held a viewing party at the Jolie Pearl in honor of the first episode of a Food Network reality show.
Jay Ducote's celebration was for the first episode of Food Network Star, a show that pits top chefs against each other for an opportunity to be in their own cooking show on the Food Network.
Ducote says that being on the show is an "opportunity of a lifetime" and that he is excited to be competing on the show.
Ducote survived the first cuts on the show, with further episodes to be shown Sundays at 8:00.
