BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police arrested a Baton Rouge man after a six-year-old said that she was his girlfriend.
In August of 2014, the mother of the 6-year-old victim was having a conversation about 23-year-old Reginald Augustus. When the mother mentioned that Augustus "Never has a girlfriend", the 6-year-old chimed in and said "Reginald does have a girlfriend. I am his girlfriend."
Baton Rouge Police say that when the mother asked the victim if Augustus ever touched her, the six-year-old responded that he touched her "between her legs when she was wearing pajamas," according to a BRPD report.
Officials say that when the other person in the conversation asked the other children who were at the residence, a 10-year-old said that Augustus would sleep with her under the same blanket, and that he touched her inappropriately.
The 10-year-old told police that she did not tell anyone because she did not want Augustus to get in trouble.
Augustus was eventually located, arrested and charged with two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and is being held in jail on a $50,000 bond.
