PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - Two convicted killers will learn their fates Wednesday.
A West Baton Rouge Parish jury found Monique Kitts and Karl Howard guilty of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in November in connection with a twisted murder-for-hire in the death of Kitts' husband, Corey Kitts. They both face life in prison.
Monique Kitts was found guilty of paying Howard to shoot her husband, Corey Kitts, in July 2010. Investigators found Corey Kitts had been shot three times in the head while he was asleep in his Addis home.
Monique Kitts hired Howard as the triggerman in order to cash in on more than $500,000 in insurance money.
