GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - After Gonzales Police released images taken from surveillance video of a suspect wanted for taking a money clip left behind by a patron of Pop N Go's convenience store, the community responded and helped police identify the man.
Rashad Bridges, 29, posted a 'selfie' to Facebook, wearing the exact clothing he wore when he took the money clip.
Bridges was questioned by investigators, and he admitted to taking the money, but claims the person in front of him in line had just left it behind seconds before he took it.
He was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony theft in excess of $750.
Bridges was already incarcerated on unrelated charges at Ascension Parish Prison.
