Annual celebration applauds Louisiana adoptions
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Department of Children and Family Services celebrate 2014's adoptions with an annual celebration.
Despite cold temperatures, the 16th Annual Adoption Celebration at the Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge brought balloon artists, face painters, children's activities, and the St. Michael the Archangel High School Jazz Band together to celebrate the 627 adoptions made by 429 Louisiana families.
Earlier this month, Governor Bobby Jindal announced November as Adoption Awareness Month, noting that “Louisiana's greatest strength is its families”.
