ST. MARY PARISH, LA (WAFB) - St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a New Iberia man after he was accused of being intoxicated and was refusing to leave his former place of employment.

Calvin Conley, 48, was arrested Saturday in Sorrell after he refused to leave the St. Mary Coop sugar mill.  Deputies were called and Conley was no longer at the sugar mill. They found him at a nearby residence and was told not to go back on the sugar mill property.

Deputies say Conley was later found on the property where he was arrested. He has been charged with resisting an officer, entry or remaining in places after being forbidden, and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

Conley was taken to the St. Mary Parish Jail and his bond was set at $2,000.
