Belle Rose man arrested for domestic abuse

BELLE ROSE, LA (WAFB) - A Belle Rose man was arrested on domestic abuse for strangling a female.
Ascension Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack says deputies arrested Herman Knockum, 48, and charged him with domestic abuse aggravated assault and domestic abuse battery and driving while under a suspended license.
Officials say while taking a statement from the female Monday morning at 1:30 a.m., Knockum drove up and got out of his car. They also say Knockum followed the woman in his car when she left the residence walking and when he realized she was calling police he tried to run over her.
