ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A former Air Gas employee has been arrested for using the company gas card for personal use. He is accused of using the card 12 times and spending a total of $4980.33.

Investigators with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office learned that 44-year-old Joseph Albert also used the card in surrounding parishes. The company says he did not have authorization for the purchases.

Albert was arrested and charged with 12 felony counts of unauthorized use of access card. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and was released on a $30,000 bond.

Albert was terminated from Air Gas on July 24. More charges may be filed.
