District judge decides to not run for another term
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Louisiana district judge in Baton Rouge will not run for re-election because she is retiring.
Judge Kay Bates has served since 1996 and at the end of the year, she plans on spending more time with her family during her retirement.
The 63-year-old judge served 12 years as court commissioner and five years as an East Baton Rouge Parish prosecutor before being elected to the bench.
