BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters are investigating a blaze at a vacant house that still had electricity running to it.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department said it happened on 12th Street near Louisiana Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
Mark Miles with BRFD said crews arrived on the scene in about five minutes after getting the call and had the fire out in less than 20 minutes after arriving on the scene.
Reports indicate the kitchen was on fire when firemen made it to the home and the flames had gotten into the attic. The rest of the home had smoke and water damage.
Investigators are still collecting evidence and have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
