Waguespack sworn in as Sheriffs' Association president

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack was sworn in as president of the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association Tuesday morning.

The ceremony was conducted at the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association headquarters in Baton Rouge.

"It's an honor to serve the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association as president and I look forward to accepting the challenge of this new role," Sheriff Waguespack says.

He succeeds Sheriff Tony Mancuso of Calcasieu Parish. The Sheriffs' Association is composed of Louisiana's 64 sheriffs and nearly 14,000 deputy sheriffs.
