Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Deputy arrested on domestic battery charges

NEW ROADS, LA (WAFB) - A Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Deputy was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with second degree battery by domestic violence.
Officials say officers with the New Roads City Police Department arrested Deputy Stephen Louis.
Reports say Louis was in uniform, but off duty when the arrest occurred.
Deputy Louis has been suspended without pay pending a review of New Roads City Police investigation.
