Louisiana State Police holds annual memorial for those who died in the line of duty

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A somber but moving ceremony is planned at Louisiana State Police Headquarters on Wednesday.

The men and women of law enforcement who have died while protecting and serving the public will be honored.

Since 1925, 27 state troopers have lost their lives in the line of duty.

They'll be remembered during a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. at the headquarters on Independence Boulevard in Baton Rouge.

The event is open to the public.
