Baker man and woman arrested in drug bust

BAKER, LA (WAFB) - Two people were arrested Thursday morning on several drug charges.

According to EBRSO spokesperson Casey Hicks, the Delta Narcotics Task Force teamed up with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office SWAT team and Baker Police in a drug seizure located at 5468 Truman Street, Baker, La.

Johnathan Lewis, 31, and Latarsha Lewis, 30, were both arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute a schedule II cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance.  Latarsha is also charged with drug paraphernalia and fugitive charges.

Authorities seized approximately 107 grams of Cocaine, a .9mm assault rifle, $1,000, a digital scale, and a bag of marijuana.

Officials say Johnathan Lewis is also being charged with four counts of attempted 1st degree murder of a police officer after he allegedly fired shots at the time of the raid. However, no one was hit or harmed.
