BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - House bills flew through the Senate at a rapid pace, with the upper chamber actually working on a Thursday.

House bills that had no objections made final passage on the Senate side Thursday morning.

On the agenda, the teen tanning ban (HB 746) by state Rep. Helena Moreno, D-New Orleans, has been moved, along with other non-controversial bills.

Over in the House, the e-cigarette bill (HB 1264) by state Rep. Frank Hoffman, R-West Monroe, is off the floor. It prohibits anyone under 18 from possessing an electronic cigarette.

Numerous committee meetings are scheduled for the afternoon.
