Healthcare advocates plan vigil on steps of Louisiana State Capitol

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A candlelight vigil focusing on healthcare coverage is planned for Thursday.
A group called "Campaign for Healthcare for Everyone Louisiana" is holding the vigil on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol at 6 p.m.
Participants are hoping to draw attention to the hundreds of residents who die each year in the state because of a lack of health coverage and the fact that the state still refuses to expand the Medicaid health insurance program through the Affordable Care Act.
