Sheriff: 19-year-old poses as police officer doing a narcotics investigation

TICKFAW, LA (WAFB) - A 19-year-old Albany, LA man was arrested on April 1, 2014 for allegedly posing as an undercover Madisonville Police Officer.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, Devin Kinchen and two other unknown white males were parked in a driveway on Ruth Stafford Road in Tickfaw, LA. When approached by a near by neighbor, Kinchen allegedly replied that he was an undercover Madisonville Police Officer conducting a narcotics investigation and advised the complaint not to contact the authorities.

A short time later, deputies found Kinchen in his red F-250 pick-up truck on Faller Rd. When asked if he was a police officer, Kinchen replied "no"; it was also confirmed through the Madisonville PD that he was not employed with the agency.

Kinchen was charged with posing as a police officer and criminal trespass.
