Sheriff: 2 men found sleeping in car at gas pump arrested for possession

SULPHUR, LA (WAFB) - Two Baton Rouge men were arrested Tuesday morning on drug charges after they were found sleeping in a car parked at the gas pumps at a Sulphur gas station.

Around 4 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies were called to the gas station about the two men sleeping. When deputies arrived, they spoke with the two men identified as 22-year-old Alan Johnson and 23-year-old Gerell Coco. Deputies noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside of the car.

Johnson gave deputies permission to search the car. Reports say they found a trash bag of marijuana, a large amount of cash, and a bag containing more than 100 Ecstasy pills.

Johnson and Coco were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and both charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of Ecstasy with intent to distribute.

Their bonds are still pending.
