TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's office are currently searching for 35-year-old Christopher Ricker. Ricker allegedly escaped from the St. Tammany Work Release Program early this morning.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, the sheriff's office received a call from a female stating that she had been abducted by Ricker early this morning from her Covington area workplace.

Allegedly, Ricker then held her against her will as he traveled to Tangipahoa Parish, then putting her out of his 1999 blue Toyota Camry on Wardline Rd.

Ricker was soon located by deputies traveling on Hwy 442 in Loranger. After a short pursuit, Ricker crashed his vehicle into a tree near Cherokee Beach, exited his Camry, and jumped into the river. Ricker was then observed to be headed east on foot.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Deputies have area surrounded and K9's on the ground.

TPSO officials have provided two photos of Ricker. Anyone having information or if you see Ricker or any suspicious persons, please contact 911 immediately.
