Southern rallies to beat Mississippi Valley on national TV

Malcolm Miller scored a game-high 27 points and Calvin Godfrey added 17 points and 13 rebounds, as the SWAC-leading Southern Jaguars got redemption for an early season road loss by beating Mississippi Valley State 83-74 Monday night at the FG Clark Activity Center.

Roman Banks team also bounced back from Saturday's six point loss to UAPB, just the second for the Jaguars in the league this season.

Sandy Pugh's Lady Jags also remained atop the SWAC standings, getting 16 points and 11 rebounds from Jasmine Jefferson in a 70-65 over the MVSU women.
