SU police chief resigns to pursue other career opportunities

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Southern University will soon be on the hunt for a police chief because former Chief Ronald Stevens stepped down earlier this week.

Ed Pratt, the spokesperson for the university, said Stevens's parting with Southern is a not a negative one.

He added Stevens, who became the SUPD chief in October 2011, is leaving the university to pursue other career opportunities.

The school has not yet named an interim chief.
