2 armed robbers run off with cash and merchandise

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are looking for two men who robbed a business at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the armed robbery happened at The Smart Shop, which is located on Coursey Boulevard near South Sherwood Forest Boulevard, around 8:30 p.m.

Investigators said two black men walked in with handguns and demanded money and merchandise. It is not known how much they got away with.

Police said the robbers then left the store, but it is unknown which direction they went. No one was injured in the robbery.

The first suspect is described as dark-skinned with a medium build. He is 5'6" and between 17 and 20 years old. He has short twists in his hair. He was wearing a shiny black jacket with fur around the hood and black pants.

The second suspect is also dark-skinned but with a husky build. He is also 5'6" and between 17 and 20 years old. He has short hair. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
